For the first time since I’ve been a photographer, I decided to use photographs that I shot during the year to create a calendar for sale.  Here’s what’s happening.

After some research I realized I needed to choose photographs that together would present a theme.  That was not easy for me because I photograph diverse subject matters.  After receiving a 3am inspiration, I chose pictures of Birds and Planes and my partner named the theme Wings.  But there was a lot more to consider.

I needed quality printing at a cost that makes sense.  Fortunately, I was referred to Vietnam Printing in San Jose.  The entire experience exceeded my expectations.  Henry the owner understood what I was trying to accomplish.  They would print as I needed them, no minimum order.  The photos are beautifully printed.  The paper is perfect.  The cost, just right.  Vietnam Printing is now who I will use when I need professional prints.

I emailed an announcement to about 60 friends and relatives.  So far, I have a respectable response of just over half.  Several have ordered multiple calendars.  I will next expand my outreach through online stores.

How was I going to deliver the calendars and how much was it going to cost me.  I personally delivered the local calendar orders.  I’ve also begun to ship the rest first class through the Post Office.  So far those who have received their calendar are as impressed as I was when I picked them up.
